Many visitors also walk Rambla Nova and the Balcó del Mediterrani for sea views and city lights. A large official midnight fireworks castle over the Mediterranean is not guaranteed every New Year in Tarragona; the city’s best-known pyrotechnic showcase is the summer International Fireworks Contest. 1 January is typically quieter: coastal walks, family meals and the remaining holiday lights. The municipal street party on Plaça Corsini has been free and ticketless in recent editions; the same is expected for 2026/2027 unless the city announces otherwise. Ticketed options cost extra. Casino Tarragona on Rambla Vella, 2 recently charged about 100 EUR for a New Year's Eve dinner package and about 40 EUR for a post-midnight entry.
