Welcome to the Rathausplatz Film Festival 2027 in Vienna
Every summer, the square in front of Vienna City Hall turns into one of Europe's largest open air cinemas. Since 1991, the Rathausplatz Film Festival has projected operas, concerts and musicals onto a 300 square meter screen right in the heart of Vienna, with admission completely free. In 2027 the square between the City Hall and the Burgtheater once again invites visitors to long summer evenings.

The detailed 2027 program with individual operas, concert films and dates will only be published on the official website in spring, in past editions the lineup ranged from Puccini and Verdi to concert recordings by global stars such as Ed Sheeran or Coldplay.

Visiting the film festival is entirely free, no tickets are needed and no registration is required. Only food and drinks at the culinary stalls are paid for.
