From 19 November 2026 to 1 January 2027, Mozart's hometown shines in an incomparable festive glow. The historic Salzburg Christmas Market at Domplatz and Residenzplatz is one of the oldest and most beautiful Advent markets in the world. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Salzburg Cathedral, visitors are treated to a romantic atmosphere, filled with the scent of mulled wine, roasted almonds, and traditional musical performances.

Program

The Salzburg Christmas Market is open daily (Monday to Thursday 10:00 AM to 8:30 PM, Friday until 9:00 PM, Saturday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and Sunday 9:00 AM to 8:30 PM). The musical program is the heart of the market: choirs perform daily on weekdays at 5:00 PM, while the famous Turmblasen takes place on Thursdays and Saturdays at 6:30 PM. The market remains open through the Christmas holidays and up to New Year's Day with adjusted hours.
