Welcome to the Vianden Medieval Festival 2027 in Vianden
The Vianden Medieval Festival 2027 (25th edition) is expected to transform the spectacular Vianden Castle into a living medieval world for nine days in July/August 2027. As the largest medieval spectacle in Luxembourg and the Greater Region, it offers an authentic atmosphere with knights, fire shows, minstrels and a colourful market set against one of Europe’s finest Romanesque-Gothic castles.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2027
The festival traditionally lasts nine days and is scheduled for July/August 2027 (exact dates still to be announced). Daily opening hours are approximately 10:00 to 19:00 (last admission 18:00). More than 100 participants fill the entire castle complex with life. In addition to the main shows there is continuous music, juggling and craft demonstrations. The programme is family-friendly with attractions taking place at several locations simultaneously.
Tickets & Admission for Vianden Medieval Festival Vianden
Ticket prices are based on previous years (2026 reference): adults approx. €15, students (13+ with card) approx. €9, children (6–12 years) approx. €6, family ticket (2 adults + 2 children) approx. €36. Group rates apply for 15+ people. The Luxembourg Card is not valid during the festival. Tickets are sold on site; please check the official website for confirmed 2027 prices and conditions.
Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Vianden
- Getting there: By car or public transport (train + bus) to Vianden; free shuttle service operates on weekends. Parking in town is limited – arrive early.
- Wear comfortable, sturdy shoes as the castle grounds feature many stairs, cobblestones and slopes.
- Book accommodation in Vianden or the surrounding area well in advance, especially for weekends.
- Arrive in the morning to avoid crowds and catch multiple shows.
- Bring weather-appropriate clothing and sufficient water – parts of the programme take place outdoors.
