Welcome to the Königsbacher Altstadtfest 2027 in Koblenz
When the historic lanes and squares of the Koblenz Old Town fill with music, market stalls and cheerful crowds, it is festival time again. Since 1975, the Große Koblenzer Karnevalsgesellschaft has turned the heart of Koblenz into a lively festival ground for one summer weekend, spread across several stages and squares.

- Up to eight squares and several stages set right in the historic Old Town
- Live music from bands and artists across the Middle Rhine region, spanning rock, pop, country and jazz
- The festival centers on the Rhenish sense of cheer (Rheinischer Frohsinn) rather than Franconian or Bavarian festival traditions
- A traditional keg tapping ceremony and parade open the festival at the Liebfrauenkirche

Program and Schedule: What to Expect in Koblenz
The festival traditionally runs from Friday to Sunday on the first weekend of July. It usually opens on Friday afternoon at the Liebfrauenkirche with a keg tapping ceremony followed by a parade moving from square to square. Over the following days, live bands, DJ sets and a varied family program keep every corner of the Old Town busy. The exact dates and program for 2027 have not yet been announced and will be published by the organizers in spring.

Admission to the Königsbacher Altstadtfest is traditionally completely free, so no ticket is required. Visitors only pay for food and drinks at the many stalls throughout the Old Town.

- The Old Town is best explored on foot, and arriving by train or bus to Koblenz main station is recommended
- Parking in the city center fills up quickly during the festival, so public parking garages on the outskirts are a good alternative
- Early July usually brings mild to warm summer weather, so light clothing and a small umbrella for passing showers are worth packing
- Since the weekend draws large crowds, accommodation in Koblenz should be booked well in advance
