Welcome to the Amplifest 2027 in Porto
Since 2011, Amplifest has described itself not as a classic festival but as an "experience", focused on post metal, doom and darker, avant garde music in Porto, Portugal. Importantly for 2027, there are currently no confirmed dates and no confirmed venue. Organiser Amplificasom announced in 2025 that it was leaving its long time home, Hard Club, after the venue owners proposed an unworkable price increase, and the team has been searching for a new home ever since. No regular Amplifest edition has taken place since 2025; instead, Amplificasom has organised occasional standalone concerts.
Highlights & Attractions at Amplifest in Porto
- A deliberately small, tightly curated lineup focused on post metal, doom, drone and related genres, rather than a broad mainstream bill
- A self described "experience" rather than a plain concert series, including visual and artistic elements
- International and Portuguese underground acts, often playing exclusive shows in Portugal
- A close knit, loyal community built around organiser Amplificasom
- Historically held for over ten editions at Hard Club in central Porto, close to landmarks such as Palácio da Bolsa and the Church of São Francisco
- A proudly independent, non subsidised format that sets itself apart from large commercial festivals
Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2027
No lineup or schedule exists yet for 2027. Amplificasom has stated publicly that it is still looking for a suitable new venue in Porto, Lisbon or even smaller cities, without success so far. Until a new edition is officially announced, the team has instead been putting on individual shows featuring artists who would likely have played the festival.
In past editions the programme typically ran across two to three days in autumn, with a packed nightly schedule of several bands across one or two stages.
Tickets & Admission for Amplifest Porto
Since no 2027 edition has been confirmed, there are no current ticket prices to share. For reference, the last regular edition in 2024 partly used a "pick your ticket price" model, letting attendees choose what to pay within a set range, and day tickets in earlier years were priced around 69 euros. Firm pricing for any future edition will only be published once Amplificasom makes an official announcement on amplificasom.com.
Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Porto
- Porto is well connected via Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, as well as by train and long distance bus from other Portuguese and Spanish cities
- The previous venue sat in the historic city centre, so good access to hotels and restaurants is likely at a future venue too, though this is not yet confirmed
- For an autumn edition (traditionally held between September and November), pack layered, weather ready clothing
- Anyone planning to travel for a future edition should keep checking the official Amplificasom website and social media before booking flights or accommodation
