In previous years Nebel has offered an organ concert in St. Clemens church at 23:00, after which several hundred people gather in front of the church. At midnight the bells ring, and guests toast with sparkling wine they bring themselves. In Norddorf people meet around 23:45 at the bell between the bakery and the tourist information, where the mayor speaks and the municipality serves a glass of sparkling wine. In Wittdün the ferry landing is the classic spot to watch the fireworks on the neighboring island of Föhr. Whether fireworks will take place there in 2026/2027 is open, as a silent fireworks show was already planned in Wyk for the last New Year's Eve.

After midnight the action moves to the New Year's Eve disco at 54° Nord at the beach access in Nebel. The disco has existed since 2003 and runs event based; the New Year's party is its winter highlight. A free night bus, funded by the shipping company W.D.R. and AmrumTouristik, has run roughly every hour in previous years between the island villages and the disco from late evening until the early morning. Steenodde is not served.

Visitor Tips: Travel and Accommodation on Amrum at New Year's Eve

• Arrive by ferry from Dagebüll via Föhr to Wittdün. Check the timetables and reserve vehicle spaces early if you bring a car. On the island the free night bus takes you from village to village.
• Fireworks and firecrackers are banned across Amrum because many houses have thatched roofs and the Wadden Sea is protected. Sparklers are allowed.
• Late December on the North Sea is cold, windy and damp. Pack warm windproof clothing, sturdy shoes and gloves, especially for the open air midnight gatherings.
• Many venues are closed in winter. Book accommodation and a New Year's menu several weeks ahead and check the opening hours of pubs.
