Welcome to Ana Desetnica 2027 in Ljubljana
Ana Desetnica is Slovenia's international street theatre festival, turning the squares, parks and lanes of Ljubljana into open air stages every summer since 1998. Exact dates for the 2027 edition have not yet been confirmed, but based on the usual pattern the festival is expected to run from late June into early July, with its main four day program taking place in central Ljubljana.
Highlights and Attractions at Ana Desetnica in Ljubljana
- Over a hundred free performances spanning street theatre, contemporary circus, dance and clowning
- Artists traveling from ten or more countries, from Portugal to North Macedonia
- Iconic settings such as Prešeren Square, Ambrožev Park and the Šiška Culture District
- A program that appeals equally to families, young people and adults
- Street parades that connect different neighborhoods of the city
- The accompanying urbANA ljubljANA award for excellence in street theatre
- A strong social and ecological focus running through the supporting program
Program and Schedule: What to Expect in 2027
The festival is organized by Ana Monro Theatre, which has been the leading street theatre organization in Slovenia for more than a quarter century. Alongside Ljubljana, the traveling caravan of artists usually also visits other Slovenian towns such as Maribor, Kranj or Nova Gorica. The full 2027 lineup and program typically get released only a few weeks ahead of the festival; in previous years the Ljubljana leg centered on the first weekend of July.
Tickets and Admission for Ana Desetnica Ljubljana
Ana Desetnica is deliberately designed as a free festival. The vast majority of performances in public spaces are open to everyone without a ticket and without registration.
