The absolute highlight of the season is the spectacular Grand Miners' Parade on 20 December 2026, where hundreds of participants in historical mining uniforms march through the festively illuminated streets.

Tickets

Admission to the Annaberg Christmas Market is completely free. No tickets are required to enter the market or enjoy the performances on the main stage. Tickets are only necessary for special concerts inside St. Anne's Church or specific guided tours.

Visitor Tips

  • Arrive very early if you plan to visit on the day of the Grand Miners' Parade (4th Advent), as the town gets exceptionally crowded.
  • Use the designated Park & Ride (P&R) areas on the outskirts to avoid traffic in the narrow Old Town.
  • Take your time to discover the intricate details of the miniature Wichtelstadt.
  • Since the Ore Mountains are often snowy and cold in winter, wearing thick, warm clothing and sturdy boots is essential.
  • Take the opportunity to buy genuine handcrafted wooden toys and decorations directly from the local artisans.
