On September 19 and 20, 2026, the entire city center of Graz turns into Styria's biggest stage. At Aufsteirern, thousands of participants in traditional costume show just how lively Styrian folk culture is, and admission is completely free.

• More than a hundred program points on over a dozen stages throughout the city center
• Folk dance, brass music and choir singing on Hauptplatz, Herrengasse and Landhaushof

On Saturday, a colorful stage program starts already around midday in several courtyards and squares and runs into the evening. On Sunday, the main event unfolds: from 10 am, Aufsteirern spreads across the entire old town with music, dance and craft continuing into the early evening.

Admission to Aufsteirern is completely free on both days, since the whole festival takes place in the public spaces of downtown Graz. Visitors only pay at the food and drink stands, mostly in cash.
