Welcome to the Augsburger Plärrer 2027 in Augsburg
The Augsburger Plärrer is the largest folk festival in Bavarian Swabia and attracts around 1.2 million visitors a year to the Plärrer grounds on the Kleiner Exerzierplatz. In 2027 the festival takes place twice: the spring fair (Osterplärrer) from 28 March to 11 April 2027 and the autumn fair (Herbstplärrer) from 27 August to 12 September 2027. High-tech rides, nostalgic showmen, two large beer tents and Bavarian food define the site on Langenmantelstraße.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2027
The spring Plärrer 2027 opens on Easter Sunday, 28 March 2027, and runs until Sunday, 11 April 2027. The autumn Plärrer 2027 follows from 27 August to 12 September 2027. Typical opening hours (based on the latest season; 2027 may differ slightly): Monday to Thursday 12:00–23:00, Friday 12:00–23:30, Saturday 10:30–23:30, Sundays and public holidays 10:30–23:00. On opening day the grounds usually open later; the barrel tapping is traditionally at 6:00 p.m. in one of the beer tents.
The regular programme includes a children’s and family afternoon on Wednesdays with discounted rides, fireworks on Fridays at 9:45 p.m., and live music in the tents. During the autumn edition, a large parade from the city centre to the Plärrer grounds is part of the opening weekend. Table reservations are not available via the official Plärrer website but directly with the tent operators Binswanger and Schaller. Evening age rules apply: Schaller tent from age 18, Binswanger tent from age 16 (from 5:00 p.m.).

Admission to the Augsburger Plärrer 2027 grounds is free. There is no festival day ticket. Costs apply only for rides, food and drinks. Prices for 2027 have not been published yet. In 2026 a Maß of beer cost 12.00 EUR in the Binswanger tent and 12.90 EUR in the Schaller tent; a bumper-car or carousel ride was about 3.50 EUR. Wednesday family discounts apply. Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Augsburg
- Take tram line 4 to the Plärrer stop at the main entrance; parking around the grounds is limited
- Wear weatherproof clothing and comfortable shoes – the festival is outdoors
- Book hotels in Augsburg early, especially for opening weekends and public holidays
- Expect bag checks at the gates; glass bottles and weapons are not allowed
- Families should visit on Wednesday; arrive in time on Fridays if you want to see the fireworks
