Welcome to Bardentreffen Nuremberg 2027

From 30 July to 1 August 2027, Nuremberg's old town once again turns into a huge open air stage. Bardentreffen is one of Germany's largest free music festivals, drawing around 200,000 visitors every year who come to enjoy world music, global pop and singer songwriting across numerous stages right in the heart of the city.

Highlights

  • Free admission to every stage across the city
  • Music from around the world: world music, global pop, folk and singer songwriters
  • Historic venues such as Hauptmarkt, Insel Schütt and Katharinenruine
  • Hundreds of street musicians performing on every corner of the old town
  • Live broadcasts and video streams of selected concerts by Bavarian public radio
  • Drink and food stalls at almost every venue

Program

Bardentreffen kicks off on Friday evening around 7:00 PM and runs until Sunday night at 11:00 PM. Over the three days, international, national and regional artists perform on stages at Hauptmarkt, Insel Schütt, Katharinenruine, Lorenzer Platz, Sebalder Platz, Kreuzigungshof, Trödelmarkt and the dedicated street stage. The full program, with around 100 official acts, is usually published in late June of the festival year. Alongside the official lineup, hundreds of street musicians add extra musical surprises throughout the old town.

Tickets

Bardentreffen is a free, open air festival; admission to every stage is free of charge. Since the event runs entirely on donations and sponsorship, organizers ask visitors to consider voluntary support, for example by buying a program booklet or a festival T shirt at the info booths on site.

Visitor Tips

  • Pick one or two must see concerts in advance and otherwise wander through the old town; the atmosphere around the smaller stages is often the best.
  • Traveling by bus or train is recommended; the venues are about a 15 minute walk from Nuremberg's main train station.
  • Driving is not recommended due to limited parking.
  • Most venues, especially Hauptmarkt and Insel Schütt, offer drink and food stalls.
  • Arrive early, as the best spots in front of the main stages fill up quickly.
