Welcome to the Barock Festival 2027 in St. Poelten
The Barock Festival St. Poelten 2027 brings early music, dance, literature and visual art to the capital of Lower Austria. Since 2006 the festival has been a fixture of the city’s cultural calendar, staged in historic spaces such as the cathedral, the former synagogue, the Franciscan church and other baroque venues. Exact 2027 dates have not been published yet; in recent years the festival has typically taken place in June.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2027
The full 2027 programme will be announced on the official website. The festival usually runs for about ten days with more than ten events. Typical ingredients include an opening concert in the cathedral, chamber concerts in the former synagogue, family concerts, talks and a closing orchestral evening – often centred on Johann Sebastian Bach. The repertoire focuses on the 17th and 18th centuries, often in dialogue with contemporary formats. Main venues include the Cathedral (Domplatz 1), the Former Synagogue (Dr.-Karl-Renner-Promenade 22), the Franciscan Church on Rathausplatz, the diocese summer refectory, Loewinnenhof and Cinema Paradiso. Evening concerts usually start at 19:30.
Tickets & Admission for Barock Festival St. Poelten
Ticket prices for 2027 have not been released. As a guide, the 2026 edition offered single tickets from about 27 EUR, family concerts from about 6 EUR, a small festival pass from 78 EUR and a large pass from 180 EUR. Some talks and workshops were free, often with a numbered ticket. Sales are expected again via close2fan.com, the municipal culture office (Karmeliterinnenplatz 1b), the City Museum (Prandtauerstrasse 2) and [email protected]. - St. Poelten is about 25 minutes by train from Vienna Central Station; the cathedral and old town are within walking distance of the station.
