Welcome to the Barthelmarkt Oberstimm 2027 in Oberstimm
The Barthelmarkt in Oberstimm near Manching is one of the oldest and most visited folk festivals in Upper Bavaria. Traditionally held on the last weekend of August, the four-day event features large beer tents, horse races and the legendary horse market. More than 250,000 visitors experience centuries-old customs and lively festival atmosphere here.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2027
The Barthelmarkt traditionally runs from Friday to Monday around the last weekend of August. On Friday the mayor opens the festival with the beer tapping after the parade. Saturday focuses on the parade and horse races. Sunday starts with the festival service and ends with the big fireworks. Monday begins at 6 a.m. with the tent storm and the Roßmarkt – the historic heart of the market. Exact dates for 2027 will be announced in good time on the official website.

Admission to the festival grounds is free of charge. Usual prices for food and drinks apply in the tents (a Maß of beer most recently around €12.90). Table reservations in the tents are possible and recommended. Current information on prices and reservations can be found on the official website.
Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Oberstimm
- Travel by bus is recommended – special lines run during the festival
- Parking is subject to a fee (approx. €4 per day) and limited – arrive early
- Book accommodation in Manching, Ingolstadt or the surrounding area in good time
- Arrive very early on Monday if you want to experience the tent storm
- Pack weatherproof clothing and sturdy shoes – the grounds are large
