Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2026/2027
31 December often starts with brass music at the Golden Roof late in the morning. In the afternoon the New Year's Eve Run starts and finishes at the Tyrolean State Theatre. After dusk, light projections turn landmarks and the Inn into a walk-through stage. The main street party usually begins at 9:00 p.m. in front of the Hofburg; at midnight the authorised fireworks fire from Seegrube. Private fireworks are generally banned in the city and in forest risk zones. After midnight, SILVESTER BEATS continues inside Congress Innsbruck. Families often attend Children's New Year's Eve on 30 December. In early January the Four Hills Tournament at Bergisel adds a major winter-sports date: Innsbruck is scheduled for 2 and 3 January 2027. Check innsbruck.info and nordkette.com close to the date for the confirmed bands, light-art theme and cable-car hours.

Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Innsbruck
- Arrive by train at Innsbruck Hauptbahnhof; the Old Town and Congress are walkable. On New Year's Eve, IVB city buses including Nightliner services in Tyrol are typically free from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
- Expect near-freezing temperatures in town and a much colder, windier night on Seegrube: wear layers, winter boots, hat and gloves. Glass bottles are not allowed on Nordkette.
- Reserve hotels near the Old Town, Maria-Theresien-Strasse or Hungerburg early; New Year's Eve and the January ski-jumping weekend fill rooms fast.
- If you want the fireworks from the mountain, buy Seegrube tickets as soon as they go on sale; the allocation is limited and sold out in previous years.
- Ski by day, celebrate by night: combine lifts, slopes and sights with the SKI plus CITY Pass or the Innsbruck Card. LUMAGICA in the Imperial Gardens usually runs through winter and adds extra light installations.
