From 28 November to 24 December 2026, Switzerland's capital shines bright with festive spirit. Set against the backdrop of Bern's UNESCO World Heritage-listed Old Town, near the iconic Zytglogge clock tower and the majestic Bern Minster, the traditional markets at Waisenhausplatz and Münsterplatz offer high Swiss standards, cozy chalets, and exceptional festive charm.

Program

The Münsterplatz Christmas market is open Monday through Thursday from 11:00 AM to 6:30 PM, Fridays until 8:00 PM, and weekends from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with food and cultural chalets staying open later. Alongside Waisenhausplatz, visitors can explore specialized artisan weekends on the Münster platform showcasing unique regional craftsmanship.

Tickets

Admission to the Bern Christmas markets at Waisenhausplatz and Münsterplatz is completely free. No tickets or advance bookings are required to enter the market areas.

• Travel by public transport is strongly advised; the markets are a 10-15 minute walk from Bern main station or a short tram ride to the Zytglogge stop.
