Welcome to the Blieskastel Christkindlmarkt 2026 in Blieskastel
From December 4 to 6, 2026, Paradeplatz in the heart of Blieskastel's baroque old town once again turns into a festive Christkindlmarkt. Although Blieskastel is not a large city, its striking setting of historic facades, narrow lanes and illuminated squares makes this market one of the most beautiful Christmas destinations in the Saarland region.

Program and Schedule: What to Expect in Blieskastel
The market opens Friday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Saturday from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and Sunday from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM. It traditionally takes place on the second weekend of Advent, right in the middle of the baroque old town between Luitpoldplatz, Paradeplatz and Alter Markt. Alongside the market stalls, a small stage provides live music while the surrounding historic buildings are lit up for the season.
Tickets and Admission for the Blieskastel Christkindlmarkt 2026
Admission to the Blieskastel Christkindlmarkt is completely free. Only food, drinks and craft items purchased at the individual stalls come with the usual cost. Since parking in the city center is limited, the city of Blieskastel recommends arriving by the local Dolmusch shuttle bus or using the designated parking areas along Schloßbergstraße and near Bahnstraße and Florianstraße.
Christmas Markets in Blieskastel at a Glance
Besides the main Christkindlmarkt on the second weekend of Advent, the city of Blieskastel traditionally holds another pre Christmas market in the old town. Both dates complement each other and pair well with a day trip to the baroque town and the Bliesgau biosphere reserve.
Pre Christmas Market at the Historic Town Hall and Paradeplatz
The Pre Christmas Market (Vorweihnachtlicher Markt) traditionally takes place on the weekend before the first Sunday of Advent, expected on November 20 and 21, 2026 (official confirmation for 2026 is still pending), running from Friday afternoon through Saturday evening around the Historic Town Hall and Paradeplatz. What makes this market special is its character as a market by women for women: local women from Blieskastel and the surrounding area present largely handmade crafts, unusual gift ideas and festive treats around a large decorated Christmas tree. Admission is free as well, and shops in the city center usually stay open into the late afternoon that weekend.
