What is Blockfest in Tampere?
Blockfest is the largest hip hop and rap festival in the Nordic countries, held annually in Tampere since 2007. The festival takes place right in the city center, at Ratinanniemi Event Park and the adjoining Ratina Stadium, just a short walk from downtown and Laukontori square. Multiple stages host international superstars alongside Finland's top hip hop, rap and R&B acts. Past headliners have included 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Wu Tang Clan, Post Malone, Lil Wayne and Nas.
When is Blockfest 2027?
An official date for the 2027 edition has not yet been announced by the organizers (as of summer 2026). The most recent edition took place on 21 and 22 August 2026 at Ratinanniemi and, like previous years, sold out well in advance. Since Blockfest is traditionally held on a weekend in August in Tampere, a similar August date is likely for 2027. This page will be updated as soon as the date is officially confirmed.
Lineup and Highlights
The 2027 lineup has not been released yet. For reference, the 2026 edition featured Future, Yeat, Rae Sremmurd, Tyga, Offset and 2hollis, alongside leading Finnish names such as ibe, JVG, Isac Elliot, Ares and Costi. Blockfest is known for bringing together current US superstars and Finland's biggest hip hop and urban pop artists on the same bill.
Program and Stages
The festival traditionally runs over two days (Friday and Saturday) with simultaneous performances on several stages, including the main stage at Ratina Stadium and the Street Stage at Ratinanniemi. Exact set times are usually published shortly before the festival. Beyond the main program, official afterparties take place in Tampere city center clubs such as Ilves Bar & Night.
Tickets for Blockfest 2027
Ticket prices for 2027 have not been set yet. For reference, standard 2 day tickets for the 2026 edition cost around 130 euros, with Plus and Exclusive tiers offering upgraded areas and re entry. Tickets are sold officially through Ticketmaster Finland. Blockfest is strictly an adults only festival (18+); no one under 18 is admitted, even with a guardian.
Getting to Tampere and Visitor Tips
- The festival site is within easy walking distance of central Tampere, close to the main railway station.
- Hotels in Tampere book up quickly on Blockfest weekends, so early reservations are recommended.
- Since Blockfest often sells out, buying tickets as soon as they go on sale is advisable.
