Bloemencorso Bollenstreek 2027 – The Netherlands' Greatest Spring Festival

From 14 to 18 April 2027, the Bollenstreek region hosts the most spectacular spring event in the Netherlands: the Bloemencorso Bollenstreek. The 80th edition of this world-famous flower parade attracts over one million visitors each year. Magnificent floats decorated with millions of fresh hyacinths, tulips and daffodils travel a 42-kilometre route from the coastal town of Noordwijk to the historic city of Haarlem. Since 2021, the Bloemencorso Bollenstreek has been inscribed in the Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Netherlands.

Programme 2027 (14 to 18 April)

The Bloemencorso spans an entire festival week with events in every bulb-growing village along the route.

  • 14 to 16 April: Opbouwdagen (build-up days) – public viewing of the float decorating workshops in Noordwijkerhout (JUB Holland, Robijnslaan 43). Hundreds of volunteers attach millions of blooms to the floats by hand.
  • 16 April (Friday evening): Festively illuminated evening parade through Noordwijkerhout.
  • 17 April (Parade Saturday): Main parade from Noordwijk to Haarlem. Departure at 9:30 AM from Koningin Wilhelmina Boulevard in Noordwijk; arrival in Haarlem around 9:05 PM. The floats pass the Keukenhof gardens at approximately 3:45 PM.
  • 18 April (Sunday): Corso Expo Day in Haarlem – the floats are displayed in the city centre until 5:00 PM for visitors to admire up close.

Route

The 42-kilometre flower parade runs from Noordwijk through Voorhout, Sassenheim, Lisse (past Keukenhof), Hillegom and Bennebroek via Heemstede to the flower city of Haarlem. Along the entire route, spectators can watch the parade free of charge from the roadside.

Tickets

The parade can be watched for free from the roadside along the full route. Those looking for a guaranteed seat with better views, toilet facilities and catering can book a grandstand ticket:

  • Covered grandstand from €79.50 (including lunch buffet; available in Lisse)
  • Open grandstand from €32.50 (locations: Noordwijk, Voorhout, Sassenheim, Lisse, Hillegom)
  • Day tours from Amsterdam including grandstand seat and Keukenhof visit from €79 to €149

Grandstand tickets in Lisse, Sassenheim and Hillegom sell out very quickly. Early booking is strongly recommended. Keukenhof entrance tickets for the parade day also tend to sell out well in advance.

Visitor Tips

  • Arrive early to claim a good spot along the route, especially at popular viewing points.
  • Public transport is strongly recommended; many roads are closed on parade day.
  • Dedicated shuttle buses run from Amsterdam, Schiphol, Haarlem, Leiden and Noordwijk.
  • The evening arrival in Haarlem is particularly magical, as the illuminated floats light up the historic city centre.
  • Combining Keukenhof and the Bloemencorso in one day is possible but busy; plan for an early start.
  • Wear comfortable shoes and bring a light weatherproof layer for April conditions.
