What is Boomtown Fair?
Boomtown Fair is one of the UK's largest independent festivals: a five day blend of live music and immersive theatre that transforms the Matterley Estate near Winchester into a fully built pop up city of stages, streets and storefronts. Instead of a conventional festival site, visitors explore several themed districts hiding more than 50 secret venues, with a soundtrack that traditionally spans reggae, ska and punk through to hip hop, drum and bass and electronic music. The 2027 edition is titled "Chapter Six: Wild Style".
When does Boomtown Fair 2027 take place?
The festival runs from Wednesday 11 August to Sunday 15 August 2027 at the Matterley Estate. As in previous years, arrival is staggered: Wednesday ticket holders can arrive a day early, while the full programme begins on Thursday.

The site sits within the South Downs National Park and includes fields, woodland and a natural amphitheatre. The nearest station is Winchester, from where shuttle buses typically run to the festival site. Allow extra time, as distances between the districts and campsites are considerable.
How much do Boomtown 2027 tickets cost?
Tickets for Chapter Six are already on sale. In the current early phase, a "Thursday Public Transport Entry" ticket costs around £315, with a standard "Thursday Entry" ticket at around £370. Arriving a day earlier requires a "Wednesday Public Transport Entry" ticket at around £375, or £440 for "Wednesday Entry". Since early ticket phases at Boomtown have historically sold out quickly, buying early through the official website is recommended.
Who is playing at Boomtown 2027?
