Welcome to the Boppard Christmas Market 2026 in Boppard
The Boppard Christmas Market 2026 takes place from 27 November to 6 December on the historic market square. Framed by half-timbered houses and St. Severus Church, the town is transformed into a magical winter wonderland with the new Light Magic event.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2026
The market runs from 27 November to 6 December 2026 and opens with the Light Magic. Visitors can explore the festively illuminated old town daily from 12:00. Opening hours are longer on Fridays and Saturdays (until around 22:00); on weekdays most stalls close earlier. The programme includes musical performances, the winter forest, toboggan run, Christmas train, carriage rides and visits from St. Nicholas and the Christ Child. The market offers a relaxed alternative to larger Christmas markets along the Middle Rhine.

Admission to the Boppard Christmas Market is free of charge. There are no tickets or entrance fees. Food, drinks and purchases at the stalls are paid separately. Current information is available on the website of the Boppard Tourist Information.
Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Boppard
- Arrival by train: Boppard is on the left bank of the Rhine line; the station is within walking distance of the market square.
- Warm, weatherproof clothing and sturdy shoes are recommended, as the market is outdoors and late autumn can be cold and wet.
- Book accommodation in the old town or with Rhine views early, as the region is popular during Advent.
- Use car parks on the edge of the old town; the market square itself is closed to traffic during the market.
- Don’t miss the Light Magic opening and visit the winter forest and toboggan run especially with children.
Boppard Christmas Market with Light Magic 2026
The main market on the market square forms the centrepiece. It is opened with the new Light Magic and offers stalls with gifts, handicrafts, Christmas sweets and mulled wine in a historic setting.
