A metal festival inside a real 18th century military fortress: that is Brutal Assault, one of Europe's best known extreme metal festivals since 1996. In 2027 the festival celebrates its thirtieth edition at the historic Josefov Fortress near Jaroměř, about twenty kilometers from Hradec Králové in the Czech Republic.

Brutal Assault traditionally runs on several stages at once, spread across the whole fortress site, alongside a horror cinema and art installations in the underground passages. The full 2027 lineup is being revealed gradually; the first names have already been announced.

The current festival pass (first sales phase) costs 219.90 euros; prices typically rise in several phases as the event approaches, so buying early pays off. Discounted tickets are available for children and juniors aged 0 to 12.99 and for holders of a disability card. The festival is fully cashless, with all payments made through a chip on the wristband.
How to Get to Josefov Fortress
Josefov Fortress is located in Jaroměř, about twenty kilometers from Hradec Králové. For train travel, the Czech iDOS app is recommended for planning connections. Visitors arriving by car should note that parking directly in Josefov is restricted; parking is available on the outskirts of town. Camping is possible on the festival grounds, including for motorhomes and campers.
