From 7 to 11 July 2027, Gendarmenmarkt in the heart of Berlin once again becomes an open air concert stage. For over 30 years, the Classic Open Air has been a fixed highlight of Berlin's cultural calendar; the unique backdrop of the Konzerthaus, the French Cathedral and the German Cathedral creates a special atmosphere every evening, accompanied by light and fire displays.

Highlights

  • Five concert evenings on one of Berlin's most beautiful squares
  • Opening night with the Konzerthausorchester Berlin under Antonello Manacorda
  • Pianist Lukas Sternath performing works by Beethoven, Debussy and Ravel
  • Closing concert with the Italian trio Il Volo
  • Program spanning classical music, crossover and pop
  • Historic setting with light and fire staging

Program

The Konzerthausorchester Berlin opens the festival on 7 July 2027 under the direction of Antonello Manacorda together with pianist Lukas Sternath, performing works including Debussy's "Prélude à l'après midi d'un faune" and Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4. The following evenings continue the festival's mix of classical concerts, crossover programs and pop shows. The closing concert on 11 July 2027 features the Italian trio Il Volo, bringing classical bel canto and modern pop elegance back to the Gendarmenmarkt stage. Concerts usually start around 7:30 PM; each evening requires a separate ticket, as no full festival pass is offered.
