Coala Festival 2027 takes place on 29 and 30 May at the Hipódromo Manuel Possolo in Cascais, traditionally opening the European outdoor season on the Portuguese Riviera. Born in São Paulo, the festival celebrates lusophone music and links Brazil, Portugal and Portuguese-speaking Africa across two open-air stages. The fourth Portuguese edition keeps the same cultural triangle that has defined the Cascais event since 2024.

The 2027 lineup has not been announced yet. Past Cascais editions featured names such as Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Jorge Ben Jor, Ney Matogrosso, Liniker, Lulu Santos, Slow J, Bonga, Marina Sena, João Gomes, Carminho and Mayra Andrade, alongside newer lusophone voices. Curation has been led by Gabriel Andrade and Kalaf Epalanga; a similar approach is expected for 2027.

In 2026, doors typically opened around 15:00 and music ran until about 00:30. Day-by-day set times are usually published shortly before the festival. DJ sets fill the gaps between live performances on both stages. The pace stays deliberately relaxed: afternoon sun, sunset over Cascais and evening headliners rather than an all-night party.

Tickets for Coala Festival 2027 are not on sale yet. Early Bird is expected to open in autumn 2026 (sources cite early October or early November) as a single batch at a special price until it sells out; sales run through Fever. For orientation, the 2026 structure (all figures in euro) was: day lawn tickets from about 65–74 euro, weekend lawn pass from about 105–129 euro (Early Bird at times from 70 euro), VIP day from about 139 euro, VIP weekend from about 239 euro. VIP included a covered area with stage view, exclusive bars and in some cases an open bar. 2027 prices may differ. Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Cascais

• Getting there: Take the CP Cascais Line from Lisboa Cais do Sodré to Cascais, then walk about 15–30 minutes through Parque Marechal Carmona to the Hipódromo. Previous editions offered a special €3 return train ticket on concert days with a festival ticket. MobiCascais bus M27 stops near the site. By car: recommended parking at Parque Marechal Carmona (Avenida da República 389), Cascais Center and Marina de Cascais — arrive early, spaces are limited.
• Weather and clothing: Late May in Cascais often means 18–24 °C by day and cooler evenings with Atlantic breeze. Pack layers, comfortable shoes and light sun protection. Rigid umbrellas, large bags (over roughly 40 × 30 × 15 cm), glass, cans and outside alcohol were not allowed; small uncapped water bottles were sometimes permitted.
• Where to stay: Cascais centre and Estoril are the most practical bases (15–20 minutes on foot or one train stop). Lisbon (Cais do Sodré) works if you want a city break plus the festival. Book early — the last weekend of May is busy on the Costa do Sol. Official hotel partners featured in previous years (including Vila Galé).
• On site: Food and drinks are sold at the venue; large quantities of outside food and alcohol were banned. Cloakroom service outside near the box office. Digital tickets via the Fever app (QR code); printing not required. Pets are not allowed.
