Welcome to the Cochem Christmas Market 2026 in Cochem
The Cochem Christmas Market 2026 transforms the historic old town on the Moselle from 27 November to 20 December into a festive winter landscape. On Endertplatz, in the winding alleys and along the riverside promenade, visitors find lovingly decorated wooden stalls, sparkling lights and the special atmosphere beneath Reichsburg Castle.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2026
The market opens on 27 November 2026 and runs until 20 December. Typical opening hours are 11:00 to 19:00 on weekdays and until 20:00 at weekends. In addition to the stalls there is the Advent Magic Tent with live music and events. Special highlights are the events at Reichsburg Castle: Cochem Advent Magic on 5 and 6 December and Castle Christmas with a living nativity scene and historical performance. A St Nicholas Market takes place on 9 December. The combination of old-town charm, riverside promenade and castle makes this one of the most atmospheric markets on the Moselle.
Tickets & Admission for Cochem Christmas Market Cochem
Admission to the Cochem Christmas Market is free of charge. There are no entrance tickets. Food, drinks and purchases at the stalls are paid separately. Events at Reichsburg Castle (Advent Magic and Castle Christmas) require separate tickets, available from November via the castle or the online shop.
Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Cochem
- Arrive by train to Cochem station followed by a short walk into the old town, or by car via the A48/A61; use car parks on the edge of the historic centre.
- Bring warm, weatherproof clothing and sturdy shoes, as the market is outdoors and November and December on the Moselle can be cool and damp.
- Book accommodation in the old town or with views of the castle and river early, as the region is very popular during Advent.
- Reach Reichsburg Castle by chairlift or on foot and combine your visit with Castle Christmas.
- Enjoy the illuminated riverside promenade in the evening and sample regional Moselle wines or mulled wine.
Cochem Christmas Market 2026 on Endertplatz
The main market extends across Endertplatz, Carlfritz-Nicolay-Platz and the alleys of the old town. Here you will find handicrafts, gift ideas and culinary offerings in festively decorated huts. The Advent Magic Tent provides additional comfort and entertainment.
Cochem Advent Magic and Castle Christmas at Reichsburg 2026
On 5 and 6 December the Cochem Advent Magic takes place at Reichsburg Castle. Castle Christmas with a living nativity story and historical setting forms a special highlight of the season. Both events complement the town market and offer a unique experience high above the Moselle.
