The 58th Coppa Romana takes place from 10 to 13 January 2027 at the Mulets Sports Centre in Silvaplana, in Switzerland's Upper Engadin. Widely described as the world's largest open-air curling tournament, it has drawn teams from across Switzerland since 1969. Matches are played on natural ice at Sportzentrum Mulets, in use for the event since 1986, while the welcome, official draw and awards ceremony are held at the Silvaplana schoolhouse.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2027

Coppa Romana 2027 opens on Sunday, 10 January, at 18:15 with a welcome aperitif at the Silvaplana schoolhouse, followed by the official draw at 19:00. Monday and Tuesday are reserved for group rounds: Group 1 and Group 2 rotate through sessions of about two hours on the outdoor ice. Tuesday also includes the veterans' brunch «Panem et Circenses» from 08:00 to 10:00 at Mulets.

Wednesday, 13 January, brings the last group sessions, then a losers' reception and Roulettis Romanum at 14:00. The Gran Finale for the top 38 teams runs from 14:45 to 17:00 over ten ends. Rankings and prizes are presented at 18:00 at the schoolhouse. The schedule may change at the discretion of tournament officials. Around the games, aperitifs, club hospitality and the winter backdrop of Lake Silvaplana and the Corvatsch massif shape the atmosphere.

Coppa Romana is first and foremost a team tournament. The field is capped at 76 teams and has been fully booked every year since 2004, with a waiting list. The official registration page lists an entry fee of CHF 520 per team, about 553 euros at current rates. Registration for 2027 opened on 1 August 2026 and closed on 28 August 2026. Teams that missed the cut should check coppa-romana.ch for the waiting list and later editions.

No official spectator ticket categories or public admission prices are published on the event or tourism pages. The outdoor rinks at the Mulets Sports Centre are generally watchable as a local winter event; any restricted areas or updated access rules will be announced by the organiser.
