Welcome to the Crmnica Wine Festival 2027 in Virpazar
On the shores of Lake Skadar, the small town of Virpazar has hosted one of Montenegro's most beloved folk festivals since the 1990s, the Virpazar Wine Festival. Winemakers from the Crmnica region and beyond gather over two days to present their wines, accompanied by music, dance and local food that bring the whole community together. Exact dates for 2027 have not yet been officially confirmed, though in recent years the festival has consistently taken place in late February or early March.

Tickets and Admission for the Wine Festival
Visiting the Virpazar Wine Festival is entirely free, no ticket is required. The wine and fish tastings provided by the organizers are also traditionally offered free of charge while supplies last. The only cost that may apply is the standard Lake Skadar National Park entry fee for visitors who plan additional excursions into the park.
Visitor Tips: Travel and Accommodation in Virpazar
- Virpazar sits on the main road between Podgorica and Bar and on the Belgrade Bar railway line, so arriving by train is easy
- Late February can still be cool and rainy by the lake, so warm and weatherproof clothing is recommended
- Since Virpazar itself offers limited accommodation, staying in Bar or Podgorica with a short drive to the festival is a good alternative
- Parking in the village is limited, so arriving early on festival days is advisable
- A walk up to Besac Fortress or a boat trip on Lake Skadar pairs well with a festival visit
