Welcome to New Year’s Eve 2026/2027 in Davos
New Year’s Eve 2026/2027 in Davos is celebrated mainly in mountain restaurants, alpine huts and hotels rather than big city-style discos: menu, DJ and gondola instead of a single mega-club. On 31 December 2026 into the early hours of 1 January 2027, key options include Jatzhütte and Chalet Güggel on Jakobshorn, the fondue evening at Jatzmeder on Rinerhorn, and gala dinners with DJ entertainment at hotels such as Central Sporthotel, Waldhuus and Mountain Plaza. The Spengler Cup runs 26–31 December 2026, with the final traditionally on 31 December. Public fireworks are banned in the municipality of Davos – midnight is marked with menus, live music and alpine views.

Waldhuus and Mountain Plaza with gala dinner and DJ at the bar. Standalone big-club or disco nights in the urban sense are less central in Davos on New Year’s Eve than hut and hotel parties. The night typically moves from a mountain hut or gala dinner into hotel bars and smaller spots along the Promenade.

Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Davos
- Getting there: RhB train to Davos Platz or Davos Dorf; local buses often free with the guest/Premium Card. Jakobshorn valley station and Rinerhorn (Davos Glaris) are the access points for the mountain parties – check each event’s gondola times.
- What to wear: Warm winter layers and sturdy shoes for huts and terraces; smarter dress for hotel galas and bars. On the mountain after midnight it can drop well below freezing.
- Where to stay: New Year weekend is peak season – book hotels (Central, Waldhuus, Mountain Plaza, AlpenGold, Turmhotel Victoria and others) and apartments early. Many packages include half board and a New Year’s programme.
- Plan the night: If you stay on the mountain past midnight (Jatzhütte, Güggel), allow for the last gondola and any walk. Leaving Jatzmeder at 22:30 leaves time for a hotel bar or the village centre.
- Practical notes: Public fireworks are not permitted in Davos. Jatzhütte is 18+. Report allergies and dietary needs to huts and hotels in advance. Always reconfirm opening times and remaining places on the organisers’ official pages and on davos.ch.
