What is Desertfest Berlin?

Desertfest Berlin is one of Europe's leading gatherings for fans of stoner rock, doom metal and heavy rock. Since its first edition in 2013, the Columbiahalle and its neighbouring venue Columbia Theater in Berlin Kreuzberg turn into a hub for fuzzed out riffs, thunderous basslines and international underground culture for one weekend a year. The festival holds around 3,000 visitors per night and has become a fixture on the European festival calendar.

When and where does Desertfest Berlin 2027 take place?

The next edition of Desertfest Berlin runs from 14 to 16 May 2027. The venue remains the same: the neighbouring concert halls Columbiahalle and Columbia Theater on Columbiadamm in Berlin Kreuzberg. Doors on Friday open in the early afternoon, and the program runs late into the night on all three days.

Lineup and program 2027

The lineup for 2027 has not been announced yet; organisers share updates through their newsletter and social media channels. Past editions of Desertfest Berlin have featured bands such as Red Fang, Russian Circles, Yob, Electric Wizard, Dinosaur Jr., Kadavar, Pentagram and The Obsessed, making the festival a reliable barometer for the current stoner and doom scene.

Tickets and prices

Advance sales are already open: three day Blind Bird passes are available for 139 euros through www.desertfest-tickets.de. Besides the 3 day pass, single day tickets and tickets for the official warmup show are also on sale. Guests without accommodation can add a sleepover ticket for 15 euros per night; overnight guests sleep on the floor of the Columbia Theater and need to bring their own sleeping bag and mat. The festival is 18 plus only.

Getting there and where to stay in Berlin Kreuzberg

Columbiahalle sits in Berlin Kreuzberg close to Tempelhofer Feld and is well connected by bus and train. Since a large share of a festival's carbon footprint comes from travel to and from the venue, organisers recommend public transport or carpooling over driving alone. Visitors from out of town can choose between hotels and apartments in Kreuzberg or the festival's own onsite sleepover ticket.
