Welcome to Donauinselfest 2027
From 25 to 27 June 2027, Vienna's Danube Island turns into a giant open air stage for the 44th time. The Donauinselfest is widely regarded as the world's largest free open air festival: across roughly 4.5 kilometers of festival grounds between Floridsdorfer Brücke and Reichsbrücke, visitors can enjoy more than 700 hours of program on around 14 stages, covering music, comedy, sports and numerous themed areas. The festival has traditionally been organized by the SPÖ Wien since 1984 and takes place every year on the last school weekend of June.

Program
The full stage and artist lineup for 2027 will be announced in the coming months; planning has already been underway since summer 2026. In recent years, performers on the Danube Island have included Nico Santos, Alice Merton, Jan Delay, Kruder and Dorfmeister and Fettes Brot. Alongside the main stage, the festival traditionally features a rock stage, an Austrohits stage and a stage dedicated to Viennese song, plus comedy, sports and family areas spread across the site. Tickets
Entry to the Donauinselfest is completely free for everyone on all three days; no ticket is required. This is made possible through the commitment of the organizers along with numerous partners and sponsors.
Visitor Tips
- Public transport is the best way to get there; the U1 line stops directly at Donauinsel station, while the U6 stops at Handelskai or Neue Donau.
- Tram lines 25, 26 and 31 as well as bus line 29A also serve the festival grounds.
- Subway trains run at shorter intervals on festival evenings, sometimes throughout the night.
- Because of the large crowds, allow extra travel time and consider leaving the car at home.
- The site stretches over a long distance, so comfortable shoes make it easier to explore the different stages and areas.
