From 19 November to 30 December 2026, Dortmund’s city center transforms into one of the largest and most spectacular Christmas destinations in Germany. Featuring over 250 festively decorated stalls, the market is a massive holiday spectacle. The absolute landmark and pride of the city is the gigantic Christmas tree at Hansaplatz, widely recognized as the largest in the world.

Program

The Dortmund Christmas City covers multiple squares, including Hansaplatz, Alter Markt, and Reinoldikirchplatz. The stalls open daily at 11:00 AM. A diverse stage program at the Alter Markt provides daily musical entertainment and a joyful atmosphere. Please note: The market is closed on Totensonntag (Sunday of the Dead, 22 November) and Christmas Day (25 December), with shortened hours on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day.
