Welcome to the Dürkheimer Wurstmarkt 2026 in Bad Duerkheim

The Dürkheimer Wurstmarkt is the world’s largest wine festival and takes place in 2026 from 11 to 15 September and from 18 to 21 September on the Wurstmarktplatz in Bad Duerkheim. For more than 600 years this traditional event has been celebrated here: award-winning Palatinate wines, 36 Schubkarch stands, a wine village and around 300 wine specialities attract over 600,000 visitors every year. Despite the name, wine is the main focus – complemented by Palatinate specialties, amusement rides and live music.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2026

The Wurstmarkt opens no later than 11:00 a.m. on all festival days (opening day from 6:00 p.m.). Rides operate until midnight. On opening day (11 September) there is a square concert, procession and barrel tapping. Further highlights include the literary morning pint, the enthronement of the wine queen, jazz in the wine village and the closing fireworks. Wednesday and Thursday (16/17 September) form the intermediate market with a reduced offering. Music in the festival tent ends at midnight, while serving continues longer.

Admission to the Dürkheimer Wurstmarkt is free of charge. No tickets are required. Drinks and food are purchased directly at the Schubkarch stands and food stalls. Current information is available on the official website of the City of Bad Duerkheim.
