Welcome to the Early Music Days 2027 in Vác
Every summer, the small Danube town of Vác in Hungary becomes the capital of historically informed performance for one week. The Early Music Days, known in Hungarian as Régi Zenei Napok, have been organized for nearly forty years by Filharmónia Magyarország together with Haydneum, the Hungarian Centre for Early Music, bringing concerts, masterclasses and family friendly side events into the town's historic churches.

Program and Schedule: What to Expect in 2027
The Early Music Days typically run for about a week, usually between late June and early July. The 2027 program has not yet been confirmed, but based on previous editions it tends to follow a familiar pattern: a festive opening concert, several chamber concerts and talks throughout the week, an open air market day with music on the main square, and a large closing concert in the cathedral. The final program and exact dates will be published on the official website in spring.
Tickets and Admission for the Early Music Days Vác
A significant part of the program, including the open air music market day and the students' closing concert, is free to attend. Tickets are sold for the larger evening concerts; in recent years prices converted to roughly 16 to 22 euros per concert. Residents of Vác traditionally receive a 50 percent discount when buying in person. Exact 2027 prices have not yet been announced.
Visitor Tips: Travel and Accommodation in Vác
- Vác sits on the Danube about half an hour from Budapest by train or riverboat, making it an easy day trip or short stay
- Most concert venues are within walking distance in the historic old town, so a car is usually not needed
- Late June and early July in Hungary tend to bring warm and often humid summer weather
- Accommodation in Vác is limited, so booking ahead is advisable
- For the popular evening concerts at the cathedral, buying tickets early is a good idea
