Welcome to the Eidgenössisches Volksmusikfest 2027 in Altstätten
From 9 to 12 September 2027 the picturesque market town of Altstätten in the St. Gallen Rhine Valley becomes the heart of Swiss folk music. The 15th Federal Folk Music Festival brings together around 1,500 active musicians and up to 50,000 visitors. For four days traditional and contemporary folk music fills twelve stages throughout the historic old town.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2027
The festival begins on Thursday 9 September with a relaxed Stubete at 7:30 p.m. Friday starts with the opening ceremony at 2:00 p.m., followed by markets, performances and the Folk Music Gala Evening at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday feature full-day performances, markets and free music-making. The highlight on Sunday is the grand parade at 2:00 p.m. together with a ceremony including an ecumenical service. Midnight events round off the evenings.
