Welcome to Elbhangfest Dresden 2027
From 25 to 27 June 2027, the scenic Elbe slopes between the Dresden districts of Loschwitz and Pillnitz turn into a seven kilometer long festival mile for the 34th time. Held annually since 1991, the Elbhangfest is one of Dresden's most beloved community festivals, blending music, dance, wine, crafts and neighbourly spirit along the riverbank.

Program
Elbhangfest traditionally opens on Friday evening in the wine villages of Loschwitz and Pillnitz and runs through Sunday evening. Along the car free Pillnitzer Landstraße, small stages line up through the districts of Loschwitz, Wachwitz, Hosterwitz and Niederpoyritz, joined by concerts, theatre and exhibitions in gardens, churches and museums on the hillside. At Pillnitz Castle, the main wine village unfolds along the Fliederhof with its own stage program, complemented by music at the Löwenkopf bastion and a craft market near the old guardhouse. A traditional highlight of the weekend is the festive parade from Loschwitz to Pillnitz. Each edition carries its own yearly theme; the exact 2027 motto and detailed schedule are usually published in spring.
Tickets
Since 2025, Elbhangfest has offered free entry across the entire festival area, including the village centres of Loschwitz and Wachwitz and the wine village and market in Pillnitz. To help secure the festival's future, the organising association asks visitors for a voluntary "Elbhangband" contribution of 10 euros at concert venues and sales points. Some individual attractions, such as the inner Pillnitz Castle park, require the regular museum admission fee.
Visitor Tips
- Use public transport, as the festival mile is closed to car traffic.
- Plan to visit both wine villages (Loschwitz and Pillnitz), since each offers a different program.
- Wear comfortable shoes, as the route along the hillside is partly hilly.
- Allow plenty of time: with over 170 individual events at around 70 venues, checking the program booklet in advance is worthwhile.
- A voluntary 10 euro contribution to the Elbhangband helps secure the festival's future.
