Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2027

The detailed 2027 lineup will be published in the months before the festival. For orientation: in 2026, Friday stages typically started around 18:00–19:00 and ran until about midnight. On Saturday and Sunday the Original Essen Mile opened in the afternoon (around 13:00–18:00) with family activities, followed by evening concerts and DJ sets. Sunday was clearly framed as a family day with brass bands, choirs, sport and children’s activities.

Musically the festival ranges from electronic warm-ups and pop acts on Kennedyplatz to newcomers on Burgplatz and local bands and specials on Willy-Brandt-Platz. Exact times, stage plans and artist lists for 2027 will appear on the official EMG site in due course.
