Welcome to the October Pilgrimage in Fátima 2026
On 12 and 13 October 2026, tens of thousands of pilgrims once again gather at the Shrine of Fátima to mark the anniversary of the sixth and final Marian apparition of 13 October 1917. That day is closely linked to the socalled "Miracle of the Sun," witnessed at the time by an estimated fifty to seventy thousand people in the Cova da Iria. After the May pilgrimage on 13 May, the October pilgrimage ranks as the second largest of the year.

Program
Celebrations begin on the evening of 12 October with a Liturgy of the Word followed by the traditional candlelight procession across the shrine's wide square. On the morning of 13 October, an international Mass follows, focused on the 1917 apparition and its message. Between the main ceremonies, rosary prayers, confession opportunities and further devotions take place; the exact schedule is published on the shrine's website closer to the date.
Tickets
Visiting the shrine and taking part in all ceremonies is entirely free; Fátima is an open pilgrimage site with no admission fee. Groups and organized pilgrimages are encouraged to contact the shrine's pastoral office in advance.
Visitor Tips

- Book accommodation in Fátima and the surrounding area well in advance, as rooms sell out quickly.
- Modest, respectful clothing is expected throughout the shrine grounds.
- Traveling by bus or organized transfer is recommended, as parking is limited.
