Welcome to the Feira de São Mateus 2026
Southeast of Porto, in the historic city of Viseu, the Feira de São Mateus takes place from 6 August to 6 September 2026; with a tradition of more than six hundred years, it is considered one of the oldest popular fairs on the Iberian Peninsula. This 634th edition brings 31 days of concerts, food, crafts, culture and fairground rides to the Campo de Viriato grounds.

Program
The Feira de São Mateus runs for 31 days, 14 of which have paid admission. Confirmed concerts so far include Fernando Daniel, Plutónio, Calema, MC Paiva and Sara Correia, with the full lineup being announced gradually. Beyond the music, the fair offers daily street entertainment, craft stalls, fairground rides, and cultural and sporting activities for all ages. The grounds themselves are open daily from 12:00 PM to 2:00 AM, and ticket booths open from 2:00 PM on paid days.
Tickets
Standard admission costs 5 euros per day when bought online in advance; a few major concerts cost between 7 and 10 euros. Children up to and including age 10 enter free. A family ticket and other discounts, such as for holders of the Cartão Jovem, are also available. Tickets can be purchased through the official Bilheteira on feirasaomateus.pt or directly at the entrances to the grounds.
Visitor Tips
- Staying in central Viseu means you can walk to the grounds and avoid the parking that fills up quickly nearby.
- Arrive early for August concert nights, as these are among the busiest of the year in Viseu.
- Wines from the nearby Dão Valley are one of the culinary highlights of the fair.
- Daily tickets do not allow re entry once you leave the grounds, so plan accordingly.
