Welcome to the Festival Cement 2027 in ’s-Hertogenbosch

Festival Cement runs from 18 to 26 March 2027 in ’s-Hertogenbosch (Den Bosch), the Netherlands. For nine days it spotlights a new generation of theatre makers, choreographers and performance artists, mainly from the Netherlands and Flanders. The festival heart is the Verkadefabriek at Boschdijkstraat 45, with further shows across the city. The detailed 2027 day-by-day programme had not yet been published at the time of research.

Highlights & Attractions at Festival Cement in ’s-Hertogenbosch

  • Nine days of new theatre, dance, performance and installation – the March festival held in Den Bosch since 1999.
  • A focus on young, still little-known makers; a typical edition shows work by about 20 artists from the Netherlands and Flanders and around 100 performances.
  • Venues across the centre: Verkadefabriek (festival heart), Theater Artemis, Pand18, Circus Kapel and Winkelcentrum Arena, plus works in public space.
  • Cement does not only present visiting shows; it also co-produces new work with the makers.
  • Pay What You Can for the full programme: 12, 18 or 24 euros per show, plus a festival pass.
  • A context programme for professionals and students, including days for theatre makers, scenographers and dramaturgs.
  • Festival heart in the Verkadefabriek conservatory: info desk, meeting point, and Bordje Cement, a vegetarian or vegan meal for 18 euros from 17:00 to 19:00.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2027

Festival Cement is not a music festival. It is the Dutch platform for the next generation of performing arts from the Netherlands and Flanders. Forms change every year: visual theatre, dance, music theatre, circus, installations and pop-up pieces in the city. Recent editions included shows in Dutch, in English, with surtitles, or marked “Language no Problem”. Language for 2027 is confirmed only on each listing.

Start times differ by show and venue. Some works happen in public space during the day; evening performances are the norm. The box office in the festival heart is open 16:00–21:30 during the festival. Check hall, address and start time per show on festivalcement.nl. Alongside the performances there is a context programme of talks and working days for the professional field.

Tickets & Admission for Festival Cement ’s-Hertogenbosch

Since 2026 the full programme has been Pay What You Can. For each show you choose 12 euros (Cement Start), 18 euros (Cement Standaard, the guide price) or 24 euros (Cement Steun, which helps someone else attend). Earlier discount rates have been dropped. The Festival Cement pass remains: 80 euros, or 45 euros for anyone aged 29 and under, for as many shows as you like. Only one festival pass, or one day ticket for the same day, can be bought per email address. Holders of the national Podiumpas (38.50 euros a month) get in free to regular shows. Buy online at festivalcement.nl. The box office at the Verkadefabriek takes PIN only, 16:00–21:30. Whether individual 2027 shows are already on sale depends on the programme page, which was still catching up when these dates were confirmed.

Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in ’s-Hertogenbosch

  • ’s-Hertogenbosch station is about 0.7 km from the Verkadefabriek. Other venues are spread through the centre – the address and route are listed on each show. The info desk can point you to bike hire. Leave time if two shows the same evening are in different buildings.
  • Mid to late March in Den Bosch is usually cool and changeable. A light layer is enough indoors; take a rain jacket and sturdy shoes for walks and outdoor pieces.
  • The centre is compact, but rooms still go early in the week before Easter. Stay near the station or the old town so venues are a walk or a short bike ride away.
  • Seating is often unreserved. Email [email protected] in advance for a specific seat or if you cannot walk or stand for a show. The Verkadefabriek is wheelchair accessible; Pand18, Theater Artemis and Circus Kapel are only partly so. Verkadefabriek theatres have a hearing loop.
  • A quiet room is available at the Verkadefabriek (ask the info desk). Book Bordje Cement online until the day before. For changes, use festivalcement.nl only – not leftover 2026 schedules.
