Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Las Palmas
- Getting there: Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Santa Cruz de Tenerife are well served by air (airports LPA and TFN/TFS). Ferries and inter-island flights link the archipelago; allow extra time if you plan concerts on the smaller islands.
- Weather and dress: January and February in the Canaries are mild (often 18–22 °C by day), cooler in the evening. For air-conditioned halls, smart layered clothing and a light jacket work well.
- Where to stay: Las Palmas and Santa Cruz offer a wide range of hotels and apartments; book early in festival season and on the smaller islands if you are island-hopping.
- On site: Main concerts are in the large auditoriums; extraordinary and En Paralelo events use theatres, cultural centres and distinctive venues (e.g. Jameos del Agua on Lanzarote). Check programme and seating plans on the festival website in advance.
- Practical: Purchase subscriptions and single tickets online through the official site; youth, student, unemployed and last-minute discounts have clear conditions. Align ferry and flight times with concert schedules when visiting more than one island.
