Five-Petalled Rose Festival 2027 in Český Krumlov
From 18 to 20 June 2027, the UNESCO World Heritage town of Český Krumlov in South Bohemia transforms into a living historical stage. The Five-Petalled Rose Festival is one of the largest Renaissance festivals in Europe, inviting visitors from around the world to step back into the golden age of the Bohemian noble family of the Rosenbergs (Rožmberk). Over three days, more than 150 performances and programs across ten stages fill the historic town centre with music, dance, tournaments and magnificent costume parades.

Program
The festival opens daily from 10:00 AM. Friday and Saturday are the main festival days with the full program: historical encampment, knight's tournament, street performances and the spectacular grand parade through the town centre (Castle – Latrán – Radniční – Náměstí Svornosti – Horní Street). The celebrations culminate in festive fireworks at midnight above the castle. On Sunday, a free admission program takes place, including a historical craft market in the First Castle Courtyard (10:00 AM – 5:00 PM) and a closing parade at 3:00 PM.
Tickets
Tickets are required for Friday and Saturday. Prices are based on the 2026 edition and may be updated for 2027:
- Friday and Saturday (advance): 400 CZK (adults), 250 CZK (students and children under 15), 200 CZK (local residents)
- On-site admission: 500 CZK (adults), family ticket 900 CZK
- Free entry: children under 6 and ZTP/ZTP/P cardholders
- Sunday: free admission
Tickets are available via the official website in advance and at the entrance on the day. Early booking is strongly recommended as the festival attracts around 20,000 visitors over three days.
Visitor Tips
- The historic town centre is closed to traffic on Friday and Saturday; use car parks on the outskirts of town.
- Arriving by train or bus from Prague (approx. 3 hours), Brno or Vienna is recommended.
- Book accommodation well in advance (at least 6 months ahead) as hotels and guesthouses in and around Český Krumlov fill up quickly.
- Comfortable footwear is essential; the cobblestone streets of the Old Town are demanding over long distances.
- For photography, arrive early in the morning; the town centre fills up significantly by noon.
- A day trip from Prague is possible, but an overnight stay is highly recommended to enjoy the evening program and fireworks.
