Welcome to the Forchheimer Annafest 2027 in Forchheim

The Forchheimer Annafest 2027 takes place from 23 July to 2 August in the Kellerwald in Forchheim. For eleven days, around 23 historic beer cellars under old oak trees turn one of Franconia’s best-known folk festivals into a vast open-air beer-garden landscape. The official keg tapping is on Friday, 23 July 2027, at 5:00 p.m.; the cellars are open daily from about 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., with festival operations starting at 1:00 p.m.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2027

The Forchheimer Annafest 2027 runs for eleven days around the feast of Saint Anne. Beer cellars open around 11:00 a.m. daily, the festival starts at 1:00 p.m. and service ends at 11:30 p.m. The official opening is the keg tapping on 23 July 2027 at 5:00 p.m. Typical features include live music on stages at Greif Keller, Hofmanns Keller, Neder Keller, Schlössla Keller, Winterbauerkeller, Brauwastl Keller and Glockenkeller, Franconian food at the cellars, and rides along the paths between the cellar rows.

Public guided tours for individuals are planned for Monday, 26 July 2027, and Friday, 30 July 2027, both at 3:00 p.m. at the information board at the foot of the Kellerwald (Lichteneiche). The detailed stage programme is published closer to the festival on the official website.

Tickets & Admission for Forchheimer Annafest Forchheim

Admission to the Forchheimer Annafest 2027 is free. You pay for food, drinks and rides. The official festival site last listed a litre of beer at 11.50 to 12.50 euros; the exact 2027 price may vary slightly by cellar and is confirmed shortly before the event. From mid-July 2027, Annafest tokens are available: a pack of 10 tokens costs 15 euros and gives around 25 percent off beer, food and rides (Tourist Information and Sparkasse Forchheim). Public tours cost 10 euros for adults, 20 euros for families and 9 euros reduced; group tours cost 85 euros. Souvenirs such as the festival stein, pin or T-shirt are sold at Tourist Information and in the online shop.

Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Forchheim

  • Take the train to Forchheim (Nuremberg–Bamberg line), then walk or use shuttle and city buses to the Kellerwald; drivers should use park-and-ride, with shuttle often included in the parking ticket
  • July and August can be hot: pack light clothing, sun protection and sturdy shoes for the woodland paths
  • Book rooms in Forchheim and Franconian Switzerland early; the eleven festival days are very busy
  • Bicycles are not allowed on the festival grounds; use designated racks at the edge. Alcohol brought from outside is not permitted
  • Families should use the children’s days; for a quieter visit come in the morning, as the music stages fill from late afternoon
