Since 1985, the Atlantic port city of La Rochelle has turned into the capital of French language music every summer during the Francofolies. Around the Esplanade Saint Jean d'Acre and numerous stages across the city center, major names in chanson perform alongside rising stars of the francophone music scene each July.
