Welcome to the Friedberg Volksfest 2026
From 7 to 16 August 2026, the small town of Friedberg, just a few kilometres from Augsburg, turns into ten days of Bavarian beer tent tradition. The Friedberg Volksfest celebrates its 75th anniversary this year and ranks among the most popular folk festivals in Swabia; its origins even trace back to 1828.

Program
The festival opens on Friday, 7 August, with the traditional brass concert and beer tasting at Marienplatz; the local clubs then parade together to the festival grounds, where the keg tapping officially opens the ten day anniversary celebration. Saturday features the Hans Böller run, while Sunday traditionally begins with a tent church service followed by a white sausage brunch. On Monday, after the seniors' afternoon, Schlager singer Anna Maria Zimmermann provides the musical highlight of the anniversary year. Tuesday is Family Day, with discounted ride prices and walking acts, plus a puppet theatre show for younger visitors. Wednesday brings Beer Day with a reduced price per litre, and Thursday is traditionally dedicated to local clubs and businesses. The beer tent features live music every evening.
Opening Hours
The rides operate Monday to Saturday from 2 PM to 10 PM, and Sundays and holidays from 11 AM to 10 PM; on Family Day (Tuesday, 11 August) they open earlier, at 1 PM. Beer tent hours follow the daily festival program.
