Welcome to the Nuremberg Spring Festival 2027
From 27 March to 11 April 2027, the Volksfestplatz by the Dutzendteich lake once again turns into northern Bavaria's largest spring festival. For three weeks, the Nuremberg Spring Festival (Frühlingsfest) offers fairground rides, beer tents, Franconian specialities and a lively program for the whole family. Entry to the festival grounds is free.

Program
The Spring Festival traditionally opens with the official beer tapping ceremony. Over the following three weeks, recurring highlights take turns: Wednesdays are family days, when rides and many food stalls offer half price deals, while selected afternoons are reserved for relaxed senior gatherings. Among the emotional highlights are several large fireworks displays, including the opening fireworks and the atmospheric "Night of 1000 Lights", when the whole festival ground glows in candlelight. The season traditionally closes with Rosa Montag, a colorful evening of music and celebration across the grounds.
Tickets
Entry to the festival grounds is free; visitors pay directly at the individual rides, stalls and beer tents. Discounted ride passes and special offers are often available at the opening and on family days. Table reservations for the Festzelt Papert beer tent can be made through the official website of the Nuremberg Volksfest.
Visitor Tips
- Traveling by tram, bus or the Dutzendteich S Bahn stop is recommended, as parking near the festival ground is limited.
- Visit on a Wednesday family day to try as many rides as possible at half price.
- Arrive early on fireworks evenings, as the grounds get especially crowded on those days.
- On weekdays (except Wednesday and Saturday) the grounds open around 2:00 PM, while Sundays open earlier in the morning.
- Dogs are not allowed on the festival grounds.
