Gallery Weekend Berlin 2027 – Europe's Premier Gallery Weekend

From 30 April to 2 May 2027, Berlin once again becomes one of the most exciting art destinations in the world. During Gallery Weekend Berlin, around 50 carefully selected Berlin galleries simultaneously open their doors to present exhibitions by emerging and established artists from more than 20 countries. Now in its 23rd edition, the event has long established itself as a cornerstone of the international art calendar.

What is Gallery Weekend Berlin?

Gallery Weekend Berlin was founded in 2005 by a cooperative of Berlin galleries and has since grown into a privately organized format that brings galleries and artists together in a unique setting. Collectors, museum directors, curators and art enthusiasts from around the world travel to Berlin each spring to experience high-calibre exhibitions across one of Europe's most vibrant gallery districts in a single weekend. Participation is by invitation only, requiring a permanent Berlin gallery location with a regular public exhibition programme.

  • Works by more than 80 artists from over 20 countries
  • Special programme at Hamburger Bahnhof and other Berlin institutions
  • Art Talks with international collectors, curators and artists

Program & Schedule

The weekend traditionally opens on Thursday evening, 30 April 2027, with vernissages at the participating galleries. Friday, Saturday and Sunday are then open for gallery visits, Art Talks, guided tours and museum collaborations. The programme is complemented by a special institutional programme at Berlin cultural venues, including extended opening hours and events at the Hamburger Bahnhof. Full programme details for 2027 will be announced on the official website in the weeks preceding the event.

Participating Galleries & Neighbourhoods

The participating galleries are spread across Berlin's key art districts. Particularly dense clusters can be found around Potsdamer Strasse in Schöneberg, in Mitte and in Charlottenburg. Long-standing participants include Sprüth Magers, neugerriemschneider, Esther Schipper, Galerie Eigen+Art, Contemporary Fine Arts, SOCIÉTÉ and many more. The full gallery list for 2027 will be published on the official website.

Tickets & Admission

Visiting all participating galleries is free of charge and requires no prior registration. An interactive map at gallery-weekend-berlin.de helps with route planning. It is advisable to group galleries by neighbourhood to keep walking distances manageable.

Visitor Tips
