Welcome to the Goslar Christmas Market & Forest 2026
From 25 November to 30 December 2026, the UNESCO World Heritage city of Goslar hosts one of Northern Germany's most beautiful Christmas markets. The historic backdrop of the market square and its absolute highlight – the romantic Christmas Forest (Weihnachtswald) at the Schuhhof – captivate hundreds of thousands of visitors every year, creating a true fairy-tale world right in the city center.

Program
The Christmas market on the market square and the adjacent Christmas Forest at the Schuhhof open daily at 11:00 AM. The festive program includes regular musical performances by brass bands and choirs on the main stage. The Christmas Forest, with its small rustic taverns and soft forest floor, is the perfect place to linger with a hot mulled wine or punch, especially as evening falls.
Tickets
Admission to both the Christmas Market and the Christmas Forest in Goslar is completely free. No tickets are required to enter the market areas. However, guided Christmas city tours can be booked for a fee at the local tourist information center.
Visitor Tips
- Visiting in the late afternoon or evening is highly recommended to fully experience the magical lighting of the Christmas Forest.
- Wear sturdy footwear, as the ground in the Christmas Forest is covered with authentic forest floor material (bark mulch).
- Use the Park-and-Ride (P&R) facilities on the outskirts of the city, as central parking fills up quickly.
- Since the market is open until 30 December, it is a great option for a more relaxed visit after the Christmas holidays.
