From December 5 to 8, 2026, the castle park surrounding Schloss Grafenegg in Lower Austria once again becomes one of the country's most atmospheric Christmas markets. For almost half a century, Grafenegg Advent has invited visitors to enjoy the pre Christmas season amid the neo Gothic castle backdrop, festive lights and seasonal music.

Program and Schedule: What to Expect in Grafenegg
The market is open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. across all four days. Outdoors, craft stalls and the gourmet village keep things running, while the Auditorium and the Reitschule host musical performances included in the market admission. On December 8, a Catholic church service also takes place from 10 a.m. A free shuttle bus runs throughout the event between the visitor parking area, Wagram Grafenegg train station and additional parking options.
Tickets and Admission for Grafenegg Advent 2026
Adults pay 10 euros at the door, or 9 euros when booked online in advance. Children and teenagers aged 6 to 18 pay 5 euros, or 4 euros online, while children under 6 enter free. Tickets are not tied to a specific day and can be used on any day of Grafenegg Advent 2026. Advance sales open on October 1, 2026, both online and at Raiffeisenbank branches in Lower Austria and Vienna.

A highlight is the floating Christmas market set directly on the Danube, complemented by stalls in the abbey courtyard and the inner courtyard of Schloss Dürnstein. The baroque old town, the castle ruin in the background and the view over the Danube create a setting found nowhere else.
Kremser Adventzauber
In the nearby district capital of Krems an der Donau, the Kremser Adventzauber turns the historic old town into a festive stage from November 19 to December 23, 2026. Between craft stalls, culinary stands, seasonal music and festive lighting, visitors can experience the pre Christmas season in the unique atmosphere of this UNESCO World Heritage town, easily combined with a trip to Grafenegg or the Wachau.
