Welcome to the Handel Festival Halle 2027
From 4 to 13 June 2027, Halle an der Saale once again becomes the musical stage for George Frideric Handel. The city where the composer was born in 1685 and spent his formative years has honored him annually since 1952 with one of Europe's most significant baroque music festivals. Across numerous historic venues, the program features operas, oratorios, concerts and chamber music, complemented by contemporary formats that welcome newcomers to baroque music as well.

Program
The core of the festival consists of Handel's operas and oratorios, staged in scholarly researched new productions, often as rare rediscoveries. The classical program is complemented by castle concerts, chamber music evenings in churches and historic halls, and performances by the Handel Festival Orchestra, which plays on period instruments. The closing weekend traditionally includes a major open air concert in the Galgenbergschlucht against a romantic natural backdrop. The full 2027 program is usually published in the winter of the preceding year; the exact motto and repertoire have not yet been announced at this time.
Tickets
Advance ticket sales typically start in autumn of the preceding year through the festival's guest office in the courtyard of the Handel House and through well known ticket outlets. Prices generally range from around 12 to 65 euros depending on the event and seating category; pupils, students and apprentices receive discounted tickets starting at 15 euros across operas, oratorios and concerts. Holders of the Halle Pass and people with disabilities also benefit from reduced rates.
