Welcome to the Halle Christmas Market 2026 in Halle (Saale)

The Halle Christmas Market takes place from 24 November to 23 December 2026 at several central locations in the historic Old Town. The main site is the Marktplatz, complemented by the Hallmarkt, Domplatz and the area in front of the Ulrichskirche. With more than 100 stalls, a large Christmas pyramid, fairy-tale forest and regional specialities, it ranks among Germany’s most traditional Christmas markets. Typical opening hours are Monday to Thursday 10:00–21:00, Friday and Saturday until 22:00, and Sunday 11:00–21:00.

The Halle Christmas Market spreads across several squares of the Old Town, each with its own character. The Marktplatz concentrates the classic stalls, the large fir tree and the stage programme. The fairy-tale forest invites families, while the Finnish village adds culinary highlights. On Advent Sundays, carillon concerts ring out from the Red Tower. After 23 December the Halle Winter Market continues seamlessly from 26 December 2026 to 6 January 2027.

Christmas Market on the Marktplatz

The Marktplatz forms the heart of the event with around 95 stalls, the large Christmas fir and the Christmas pyramid. Here you will find handicrafts, regional products, the Finnish village and the daily programme with Santa Claus and children’s entertainment. Quiet hours in the morning allow for a calmer visit.

Winterzauber on the Hallmarkt

On the Hallmarkt the Winterzauber runs in parallel and often continues beyond 23 December into January. Rides, the children’s carousel “Winterland” and a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere with views of the Old Town dominate this area.

Hut Magic on Domplatz and Ulrichskirche

On the Domplatz and in front of the Ulrichskirche smaller, atmospheric hut areas with mulled wine, punch and sweet specialities are created. These satellite markets complement the main offer and invite a stroll through the illuminated Old Town.
